Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about StridAptive.

What is StridAptive?

An AI-powered running and trail coaching app for iPhone. It brings together run analysis, fitness and recovery tracking, training planning and an AI coach, all in one place.

Who is Clémence?

Clémence is the AI coach built into the app. She analyzes your sessions, manages your calendar, tracks your recovery, builds your training plan and answers your questions. She remembers your conversations to get more precise over time.

Which devices does the app run on?

StridAptive is available on iPhone.

Do I need a GPS watch?

No, it's not required — but it gives the finest analysis: with a GPS trace, the app computes your pace second by second, your kilometre splits, your elevation gain and your grade-adjusted pace (GAP). Without a watch, the app relies on the distance, duration and heart rate of your runs.

What is threshold pace?

It's the pace you can hold for about an hour all out (close to your 10K–half marathon pace). It anchors all your pace zones and your sessions: “2 × 20 min at threshold”, “10 × 400 m”… You set it in your profile and update it as you improve.

What is GAP, grade-adjusted pace?

On hilly terrain or on trails, raw pace stops meaning much: 6:00/km uphill can cost more effort than 4:30/km on the flat. GAP converts your pace into its flat-ground equivalent, so you can compare runs that have nothing in common.

How do I connect Strava?

In the app: Settings → Integrations → Strava, then authorize access. Your activities are then imported automatically.

What health data does the app use?

With your permission, StridAptive reads your heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, resting heart rate, weight and VO₂max from Apple Health, in order to compute your fitness and recovery scores and track your progress. The app never writes to Apple Health.

How is my "fitness score" calculated?

It cross-references several weighted signals: your training load, HRV, sleep, resting heart rate and how you feel today. The result is a score out of 100 that tells you whether you're ready to push or should recover.

What do ATL, CTL and the ratio mean?

CTL (chronic load) reflects the fitness you've built over several weeks; ATL (acute load) reflects your recent fatigue. Their ratio shows whether you're fresh, balanced or overreaching — to dose your training.

Can I prepare for a target race?

Yes. You add a race from the library (marathons, half marathons, 10Ks, trails, ultras, cross country), choose your distance and taper level, and Clémence builds your plan all the way to race day.

How does the coach's free limit work?

In the free version, you can chat with Clémence up to a certain limit, which refills regularly. Beyond that, the Pro subscription unlocks unlimited chats and plan creation.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → StridAptive. You can change plan or cancel anytime; the subscription stays active until the end of the paid period.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. All your data is then erased immediately and permanently.

Does StridAptive replace a coach or a doctor?

No. The recommendations are provided for guidance only and do not constitute medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional before changing your training, and whenever in doubt.
